Known as the “people of the sun, sand and wind,” the Wayuu (pronunced "Wah-You") are a Native American people who occupy the wild landscape of Northern Colombia and Venezuela. Fiercely proud of their shared heritage, Soraya works side-by-side with Wayuu women to champion their age-old craft. Together, they create unique designs using ancient weaving techniques that have for so long been symbols of wisdom, creativity and intelligence.
